Middle Country Cosmetology Students Place in Regional SkillsUSA Competition

 

The Middle County Central School District’s cosmetology students Centereach High School and Newfield High School recently placed first, second and third during the SkillsUSA Regional Competition at Suffolk Community College in Brentwood, NY. The SkillsUSA Championships are competitive events showcasing the best career and technical education students in the nation.

Centereach High School seniors Brittani Ortiz and Amanda Mezzich finished in first and second respectively, and Newfield High School student Rebecca Devine placed third. The students were rated on their performance demonstrating a complex layered haircut and mastery in advanced styling techniques.
