Schools throughout the Middle Country Central School District recently joined communities across the nation in celebrating America’s 250th birthday through a variety of engaging classroom lessons, educational activities, student performances, and community service opportunities.

Students across the district explored the history, values, and milestones that have shaped the United States over the past 250 years. Through special lessons, projects, and discussions, students gained a deeper appreciation for the nation’s heritage while reflecting on the importance of citizenship, leadership, and civic engagement.

As part of the celebration, New Lane Memorial Elementary School’s fourth-and fifth-grade chorus students proudly performed at Suffolk County Legislator Nick Caracappa’s Brookhaven USA 250 event.
