Centereach High School Junior Iqra Jamil Selected for Prestigious Long Island Art Exhibit

Centereach High School is proud to announce that junior Iqra Jamil has been selected to showcase her artwork in the highly regarded Long Island’s Best Young Artists Exhibit at the Heckscher Museum. The exhibit will be on display from March 29 through May 3, 2026.

Iqra’s achievement is especially noteworthy, as only 84 pieces were chosen from more than 402 submissions representing high schools across Long Island. This competitive selection highlights the exceptional creativity and talent demonstrated by young artists throughout the region.

“Iqra’s work truly stands out for its originality and artistic expression,” said Thomas Bell, Centereach High School Principal. “Her dedication to her craft and willingness to push creative boundaries have earned her this well-deserved recognition.”

Centereach High School also extends congratulations to art teacher Ms. Shelby Petruzzo, whose guidance and support have played an integral role in nurturing Iqra’s artistic development. The entire school community celebrates this accomplishment and encourages the public to visit the exhibit to experience the outstanding work of Long Island’s emerging artists.
