Students at Newfield High School and Centereach High School recently welcomed community senior citizens for two unforgettable performances of music, theater, and connection, showcasing their spring musical productions.
Centereach High School kicked off its special event with a Senior Citizens’ Tea, where guests enjoyed light refreshments including coffee, cookies, and pastries—graciously served by student volunteers. Following the reception, attendees were treated to a powerful live performance of Les Misérables, which left the audience inspired and deeply moved.
Newfield High School hosted its own evening of entertainment with a lively performance of Bye Bye Birdie. After the show, seniors were invited to the cafeteria for a festive gathering featuring music, a catered dinner, and time to socialize. The celebration continued with dancing, as students and guests shared the dance floor, creating a joyful and heartwarming end to the night.
Both productions were described as stellar, highlighting the remarkable talent and dedication of the students involved, as well as the schools’ commitment to community engagement. These special performances not only showcased the performing arts programs at both schools but also strengthened the bond between students and the local community, offering senior citizens a chance to enjoy high-quality entertainment in a welcoming and festive environment.
